We are really excited to open up our first pre-order to ourbagstash friends and supporters! Thank you for liking us on Facebook as well! We hope that you will keep your email enquiries coming to ourbagstash@yahoo.com!
This pre-order will stay open from 16 August till 26 August 2010. If you are interested in pre-ordering, kindly send an email to ourbagstash@yahoo.com with subject matter as: BV August pre-order.
In your email, pls include:
>Your name
> Your contact number (before you confirm your order, we will call or SMS you only if we need you to urgently confirm your order when the item you want is selling out fast)
> Style name or description (for instance, large Nero Veneta)
> Second color or style choice in case the item you want is out of stock (for instance, medium Bottle Veneta)
We should take no longer than 5 business days (Mon-Fri) to get back to you on pricing and availability.
Once you confirm your order, we would require S$500 deposit to be paid via bank transfer before we place an order for the item.
Once the pre-order closes and we have received your deposit, the items should reach Singapore within 7 days.
We will strive to give you the best price that we can offer and you can be assured of our personalised service.

Our BV Showcase

Happy belated National Day to all Singaporeans! Apologies for being away for so long. We had to attend to the mundane affairs of daily life…Now we are back with many pictures for your viewing pleasure!
Ourbagstash will be taking pre-orders for BV bags this month, so if you need help deciding which bag/color is more suitable for your lifestyle, we are just one email away!

The bags that we are showcasing today are (in ascending order according to size):
(1) The Ottone Sloane a.k.a. Golden Girl (;p)
The Sloane is a classic style, but is less common than the Veneta. Some facts:
- Boxy shape, flat base
- Suede lining
- one size only
- no leather framed mirror
- no hand phone pocket
- one zippered compartment
- no visible hardware as the rings connecting the shoulder strap to the bag are covered in leather
- enclosure is magnetic, not zip or button
- comes in classic and seasonal colors
- normally comes in lambskin (nappa)
- Fall/Winter colors: Opera, Ink
The slightly lower-priced Pyramid style is almost identical to the Sloane, except it comes with a zipper enclosure and the rings are exposed and not wrapped in leather.
I believe that the Ottone Sloane may be the only metallic Sloane BV has done in recent years. Please feel free to correct me!
(2) The Anemone large Belly Veneta (nothing to do with post-natal flab!)
Not willing to wait for this seasonal color to go on sale, I bit the bullet and bought it at full price! It turned out to be the right decision as there were no bellies in sight during the sale, much less the highly desirable Anemone color!

(3) The Nero maxi pleated Veneta
Some facts:
- Same shape/profile as the classic Veneta
- Suede lining
- 3 sizes, Medium, Large ad Maxi
- comes with leather framed mirror
- has hand phone pocket
- one zippered compartment
- no visible hardware except for the zip enclosure
- comes in lambskin (nappa)
- the pleated Veneta style was seasonal and has not been repeated
4) The medium Moon Cabat
Moon is a Fall/Winter 2010/2011 color and only came in the Cabat. Accessories in the Moon color include knotted bracelets, phone strap and key ring. Once again, my love for BV metallics made me succumb to the Moon Cabat and the Moon key ring! I love my Moon Cabat to bits!
I can’t wait for winter to come cos I imagine the Moon Cabat would look so gorgeous with my black winter coats!
The Moon Cabat is a limited edition and only 500 pieces were produced by BV (medium and large added together). The metal plate on the pouch indicates that it is a limited edition and the number of your Cabat (for e.g. 8/500). The Moon Cabat should still be available in Asia and maybe Europe. Sold out in the USA.
Some facts:
- Open tote with removable pouch (suede lining)
- No lining
- 3 sizes, Mini (only available in Asia, size of Birkin 35), Medium and Large (men’s size)
- no leather framed mirror
- no hand phone pocket/interior compartments
- no visible hardware except for the zip enclosure
- comes in lambskin (nappa) and ostrich and calf
- Fall/Winter colors: Moon, Bitter (a beautiful dark brown), Ink (navy with purple undertones), Bottle (dark vintage green)
(5) The Noce Pillow Bag
Noce was previously discontinued but this season, I’ve seen it in the Roma and Sloane styles. It’s wonderful news, as Noce is a fabulous nutty brown.
I fell in love with the 3-way Pillow Bag when I saw it in Nero (black). It was just waiting to be bought! However, I figured Nero would always be available so I grabbed the Noce one!
If you look at the pictures, you would see that this bag can be carried (1) on the shoulder using the 2 handles (2) carried on the shoulder using the cute removable strap (3) carried on the shoulder/hand carried with the 2 sides pinned down. Extremely versatile!

More about the Veneta

There are many variations to the Veneta, much like how the classic Chanel flap has choices of lambskin/caviar leather and different hardware color.
IMO, one of the attractions of the Veneta is the absence of hardware except on the zip. To a true fashionista, this means you have many more options when coordinating your outfit and jewellery! You can match your Veneta with gold or silver/platinum jewellery without worrying about hardware clashes! Another style with that advantage is the BV Sloane. More on the Sloane later.
AFAIK, Veneta comes most commonly in nappa (lambskin) in the classic intrecciato woven style. It also comes in croc which is just drop-dead gorgeous! The following are Veneta style variations that I have seen from past and current seasons:
- Quilted
- with studs
- with grommets/rivets
- with pleats
- hand painted tiger prints
- mosaico design
- tornabuoni (twisted fettuce using shiny goatskin)
- belly
- nuvolato
- mini ponza (FW2010/2011)
- intrecciato plisse (FW2010/2011)
The current FW2010/2011 collection features regular and belly Venetas in drool worthy colors such as INK (a very dark blue with purple undertone and a splendid lush PURPLE lining!!), BOTTLE (a delicious dark green with a cool vintage vibe) and various shades of pink such as PETAL, ANTIQUE PINK and FUSHIA. I’m in love with all of them!
Bottega Veneta – The VENETA

My older kid often has show-and-tell sessions in her pre-school. There is always a theme or a certain letter of the alphabet for the week. Well, my letter for today is “V”. I ain’t gonna talk about a vase, that’s for sure!
If you’re reading this, chances are you are either (1) a very good friend of ourbagstash; or (2) you love bags; or (3) clueless. Well, for (3), you are about to get a free lesson on the finer things in life today! If you are (1) or (2), you’ll bear with me anyway!
This blog is mostly about handbags and today’s show-and-tell is about Bottega Veneta’s classic style, the Veneta! If you thinking old fuddy-duddy, think again! The Veneta has e-v-o-l-v-e-d! Although the first BV I bought was not the Veneta, it was most definitely the third one! And most definitely my fav child now!
WHY?? Let me count the ways that I love thee:
(1) It is soooooo classic and classy and understated
(2) Have you smelt and felt the soft lambskin?? Multiple bagasm guaranteed (you are above 18 right?)
(3) The color options O-M-G
(4) It comes in 4 sizes so it is not discriminatory towards short people or people who look like lampposts
(5) It is so soft and smooshy!!! I use mine as a pillow often. Seriously.
(6) It is the perfect travel bag and you can squash it into your luggage easily cos it stows totally flat.
(7) The lambskin gains a wonderful patina after prolonged use. I’m not mental but I often steal admiring glances at my Nero (black) Veneta when she sits beside me.
I could go on, but air-time is expensive. The pictures speak for the bag!
Tomas Maier is a genius (go Goggle him). Obviously he is a genius designer and rainmaker for BV. The classic Veneta has been re-invented in so many ways! I will blog about the different finishes in Veneta that I know about in another post. Today’s post will focus on the basic knowledge you need to have on the Veneta before you take that wonderful plunge!
